About Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is an international ministry that distributes donated shoe boxes filled with gifts to children around the world. Since 1993, more than 178 million children in more than 150 countries have received an Operation Christmas Child shoe box. Tens of thousands of volunteers from local churches around the world partner to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ at festive outreach events where children are surprised with these shoe box gifts.

Family Church has served as an Operation Christmas Child Drop-Off Location for over 12 years. Not only does our student ministry and individual members put together and donate their own boxes, but our team of volunteers receive, sort, pack up and deliver boxes from the surrounding community to a processing center for final shipping. This beloved annual Family Church commitment requires a lot of planning, hard work and dedication, and they love serving in this ministry!

The week of November 13-20, 2023, 22 Family Church volunteers worked a total of 158 hours. In addition, 143 shoe boxes were filled and donated by Family Church this year! We processed a total of 194 cartons with 2852 shoeboxes during the collection week, which is the most in our history!
